The 600,000-square-foot Gibson building, on Section Road in Cincinnati
was vacant since American Greeting Cards Inc. purchased Gibson in 2000 and scattered the operations to several different distribution facilities around the country. The Gibson building comprised 54 acres at 2100 Section Road and historically housed the village's largest employers. Gibson and its online spin-off, Egreetings, were purchased for $175 million by American Greetings in March 2000 after years of flagging finances.
American Greetings closed Gibson's Northern Kentucky distribution facility in June 2000. The company still sells a line of greeting cards under the Gibson name. The building is being partially used now by a company that make bathroom fixtures.
